The STAY Apartment in Debrecen-Józsa was handed over in a ceremony on November 30, which is Debrecen’s first modern, XXI. workers’ hostel meeting the requirements of the 20th century.

The STAY Apartment is characterized by warm colors and a clean style, where the employees who will be accommodated can feel like their second home. The building has 46 four-bed capacity apartments. The private living space is guaranteed by the kitchenette, private bathroom and television belonging to each room.

The residents are comfortably accommodated in favorable conditions by the balconies belonging to the rooms, the green terraces protected by shades on the penthouse level, the cozy lounge upstairs, while in the garden there is a filagoria, barbequing and grilling facilities, as well as a closed parking lots.

The value of the building is further increased by the extremely favorable operating and low energy costs, the cooling and heating that can be operated from a mobile phone, and the possibility of accounting for costs per apartment.

The aim of Dryvit Profi Kft. is to make STAY Apartment for Debrecen, as the most dynamically developing city in Hungary, a professional accommodation that specifically meets the needs of both employees and employers.

László Bana, managing director of Dryvit Profi Kft., highlighted in his celebratory speech that Dryvit Profi Kft. submitted its application in May 2020 to the call for proposals issued by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology within the framework of the central labor market program called “Establishment of Work Accommodations”. Thanks to the supporter’s decision, the company received HUF 422,982,000 in non-refundable support, the total cost of the investment is close to HUF one billion. This investment created 6 new jobs.

As a result of the project, a worker’s hostel suitable for accommodating 184 employees was built in the neighborhood of the BMW factory located in the North-West Economic Zone; in a calm, friendly, green environment, but at the same time in an area with outstanding infrastructure.

Parliamentarian Sándor Bodó, former state secretary responsible for employment policy, recalled the situation in the field of employment more than 10 years ago. As he said, when the possibility of building workers’ hostels came up among the programs, they had to fight for the workers’ hostels. The facilities being built now are a guarantee of quality that this was a good decision, the representative concluded. He emphasized: It is very important to build a livable environment, as workers’ hostels will truly be second homes for employees. “Nowadays, it doesn’t work to throw four iron beds into the room, and you can have a shower at the end of the corridor.”

Municipal representative Erzsébet Katona emphasized in her welcome that many new businesses have settled in Debrecen and employment has increased. “The objective system of the economic program is twofold, it focuses both on the development of the city and the economy, as well as on the development and operation of local public services to be provided by the Debrecen County Municipality.”

The newly handed over building is already waiting for its first guests in 2023.
